Finding a Job in a Jobless Environment

"I need a job!!!" Is anyone else screaming that right now? I am in dire straights and I need to work. Well, enough about me. So you are looking for a job and it seems as no one is hiring... Anywhere. You see Craigslist postings up the wazoo but still no calls from any employers. This has been a problem, especially for me as I liver in a small resort town that has ZERO commerce and NO professional businesses. Now... What do we do? 1) Create a short and to the point resume. 2) Stalk Craigslist for ANY available positions that you are even semi comfortably working 3) Expect to work in a field you may hate. 4) Submit, submit, submit! 5) Ask friends and family about jobs in their fields (STRESS your need to work) I have been doing these thing religiously and it seems some things are panning out. I will have to commute at least 2 hours a day but... It is definitely worth it! Good luck to you all. Hang in there. |
